The stock market has crashed, the economy is teetering on the brink, banks are failing, the automotive industry is on the verge of extinction, unemployment is on the rise and the future is about as uncertain as it has ever been in our lifetime. Now add to all this that your child will be heading off to college in the next year or two.
Have you saved enough to pay for it? Have you saved anything at all? Do you understand how the college process works? Are you equipped to deal with it? Are you prepared to navigate through the financial aid maze? Will you be able to send your children to the college of their choice? Are you prepared to look them in the eye and tell them they'll have to settle for less? Do you realize that one wrong move can literally cost you thousands of dollars in precious financial aid?
For most people, the answer to most - if not all - of those questions are a resounding "NO." And isn't this way too important to accept that as an answer? Well you don't have to!
At the end of the month, I will be holding a FREE workshop in Union County to help educate families on the process and pitfalls of the college admissions and financial aid process. I have two available dates: Thursday, May 28th at 7:00 p.m. at the Springfield Free Public Library and Saturday, May 30th at 10:00 a.m. at the Union Public Library.
The sessions are FREE, but reservations are required because of limited seating capacity. Please visit www.beaconworkshop.com to learn more and register. You owe it to yourself, and more importantly, your children, to be there.
