If you're the parent of a high school junior, you may think you have plenty of time to start preparing for college. Nothing could be further from the truth!
The reality is, your son or daughter is going to have to start submitting college applications by this fall. That's only a few short months away. And believe me, the time will fly by very quickly.
Have your kids:
- Started thinking about which schools they may want to attend?
- Gone to visit any of the schools?
- Taken the SAT or ACT exams?
- Considered what they as a major?
Have you:
- Thought about how you're going to pay for your share of the college costs?
- Positioned yourself to maximize on financial aid eligibility?
- Investigated how generous (or stingy) the colleges on your child's list have been historically?
- Looked into the complexities of the financial aid forms?
If the answer to most (if not all) of these answers are "no," then you have a lot less time to prepare than you think you do!
The BEST THING you can do for yourself right now is to attend one of my upcoming college planning workshops. I have several coming up this week in Essex, Union and Morris counties.
The session is FREE and the value is PRICELESS.
To learn more and reserve a seat, visit www.beaconworkshop.com or call (908) 686-0668, 24 hours a day.
